Title:MST - Therapist

Description:

An exciting opportunity exists in Aroostook County to use two evidence based practices: Multi-systemic Therapy and Multi-systemic Therapy- Problem Sexual Behaviors.  MST is an intensive, community-based treatment program that focuses on addressing all environmental systems that impact youth with significant behavioral problems or problematic sexual behavior.

AMHC is seeking a full time Bachelor or Master's level MST Therapist for the Caribou Outpatient Office.  This individual should have a strong mental health background and a passion for working with youth and families.  Candidates must be willing to work a flexible work schedule and should demonstrate effective communication skills as well as an ability to think critically. 

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related subject area. Persons with a related bachelor’s degree and significant clinical experience in treating serious antisocial behavior in youth may also qualify at the discretion of the agency.

Preferred Experience:
• Direct use of pragmatic (i.e., structural, strategic and functional) family therapies.
• Individual therapy with children and adults using cognitive behavioral techniques.
• Marital therapy using behaviorally-based approaches.
• Behavioral therapy targeting school behavior and academic performance.
• Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youth’s natural ecology that affect or influence the behavior of youth (i.e., family, peer, school, and neighborhood).
