AMHC in Washington County is expanding its continuum of services and is offering an exciting new part-time (24 hours per week) career opportunity for a Family/Youth Peer Support Specialist in Washington County (Calais or Machias).
Family/Youth Peer Support Specialist for Children's Behavioral Health Home services is an individual who has completed a designated Maine Office of Child and Family Services curriculum for peer supports and receives and maintains that certification.
The Family Support Specialist is an individual who has a family member who is receiving or has received services and supports related to the diagnosis of a mental illess, and who is willing to self-identify on this basis with BHH members.
The Youth Peer Support Specialist is an individual who is receiving or has received services ro supports related to the diagnosis of a mental illness, is in recovering from that illness, and who is willign to self-identify on this basis with BHH members.
Specific duties:1.Demonstrate Recovery-Based Values2.Provide linkage to Assessment and Treatment Services3.Recovery Goal Development and Planning
Qualifications:High School Diploma or its equivalent. The individual must be receiving or have received services and supports related to a mental health diagnosis, is in recovery and is willing to self-identify. Must be willing to obtain the Intentional Peer Support Specialist Certification within the required timeframes. Individual must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
