|Title:||Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor|
AMHC is looking for an energetic individual to join the Machias Outpatient Office as a full time (40 hours per weeks) Substance Abuse Counselor.
The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for case finding, providing direct services and supportive contacts to the substance abuser and/or their families, and developing resources within the community, which are supportive to the recovery of the substance abuser. He/she also functions as an advocate for the client, seeing that appropriate services are provided and assists the client in receiving these services as appropriate.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree plus one year of relevant substance abuse experience is preferred. The individual must be licensed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) with the State of Maine at time of hire. Holders of this position must complete a physical at least once every three years.
